The Saint Joseph Blanc Domaine Courbis 2015 is crafted primarily from Marsanne grapes, with a small percentage of Roussanne. The vines are planted on steep, south and east-facing slopes in the Northern Rhone, which provide optimal sunlight and drainage. The grapes are harvested by hand to ensure only the best fruit is selected.
Fermentation occurs at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks to preserve the wine’s fresh and vibrant character. Aging is done in a combination of new oak barrels (one-third) and stainless steel tanks (two-thirds), with regular bâtonnage (stirring of the lees) to enhance complexity and texture. The wine is kept on its fine lees until the spring following the harvest, allowing it to develop additional depth and richness before being bottled after approximately 10 months

Marsanne
