The production of The Pale is carried out with meticulous attention to detail, ensuring its high quality and distinctive character. The grapes used in this rosé are sourced from the best vineyards in the Var region of Provence, which benefit from the fresh sea air of the French Riviera. The primary grape varieties include Grenache, Cinsault, and Syrah. The production process begins with night-time harvesting to avoid the heat of the day and maintain the freshness of the grapes. The grapes are then softly pressed, and the juice is vinified in stainless steel, temperature-controlled fermentation tanks. This method helps preserve the wine’s aromatic freshness and fruity notes.
Aging is done on fine lees for 5-8 months in stainless steel tanks. This technique adds texture and complexity to the wine, resulting in a soft and creamy finish that complements its bone-dry nature. The careful aging process ensures that The Pale maintains its elegant and refreshing profile, making it a standout rosé from Provence.
As a businessman and winemaker, Caves d’esclans identifies vineyards, grapes and wines from château d’esclans, as well as local producers to make what has become the best rosé in the world.
As our goal is to obtain the best quality grapes and wines, we have created relationships with local vine growers, committed to Caves d’esclans, whose vineyards are treated to the same high quality standards as the Château d’esclans vineyards.
Cinsault
Cinsault, often spelled as Cinsaut, is a charming and versatile red wine grape that originates from the southern regions of France.
In the vineyard, Cinsault is recognized by its dark green leaves and the little down that covers them underneath. The grapes are quite large, with a purplish-black color and firm skin
Cinsault produces fresh and fruity wines, with a floral touch that’s just as captivating as its fruitiness.
Grenache / Garnacha
Deliciously, round, fruity and heartwarming, grenache can be truly majestic when done well. Its likeability comes largely from its full body and sensation of sweetness which comes from its high levels of alcohol and glycerol. Expect plump, red fruits, black cherry, baking spice flavours and a hit of white pepper, developing into jammier, stewed fruit flavours in hotter regions.
Shiraz
Syrah, or shiraz as it’s known in the New World, is considered to be one of the great noble black grape varieties, because it can produce such deliciously dark, full-bodied and age-worthy wines.
Expect rich, brooding flavours of blackberry, black plums and blackcurrant, with spicy, coffee, leathery and liquorice notes in hotter regions and gamey, truffle notes developing with a bit of age.
The Pale by Sacha Lichine has garnered recognition and accolades for its quality and distinctive character. Notably, it received 89.2 points and the Gold Diploma at the Expovina Trophy. This award highlights the wine’s excellence and its standing among other high-quality rosés.
The Pale’s success is a testament to the meticulous production process and the exceptional terroir of the Var region in Provence. Its vibrant and refreshing profile, combined with its elegant packaging, makes it a standout choice in the world of rosé wines.
