Andreas Mazzei Passi Neri Syrah – Dark cherry colour with bramble fruit aromas. The palate has ripe blackberry fruit flavours alongside spicy black pepper notes that are typical of syrah.
Intense red with violet reflections. On the nose it is reminiscent of forest berries, currants, violets and pepper. The taste is strong, warm, round and consistent with fine tannins on the finish.
Fermentation in steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 26/28°C for 7 days of peel maceration
Once the fermentation is over the wine is conserved in steel tanks where the malolactic fermentation takes place and is then aged for 8 months in oak barrels of 500 litres
Our story begins in 1981, when Roberto Mazzei founds Alibrianza, his family-run business. From the very beginning, the selection of wines has always been careful and precise, and when his son Andreas joins the company, the objective is to create a wider range of wines with even higher quality levels.
Today, we can proudly state to have reached an important milestone in the realization of our great project: our Cantine Andreas Mazzei, which are exclusively dedicated to an accurate selection of wines coming from Piedmont, Sicily and Apulia.
It all begins in Piedmont in the ‘90s, when Roberto and Andreas make a long-time dream come true thanks to the purchase of the Cascina Radice winery. This property, whose origins date back to 1890, is surrounded by the marvellous hilly countryside of the Asti province, in the small town of Moasca. From the very beginning, we have tirelessly worked to modernise the production plant and enlarge the barrique cellars, along with passion and carefulness our vineyards have been enhanced.
Syrah
Syrah, or shiraz as it’s known in the New World, is considered to be one of the great noble black grape varieties, because it can produce such deliciously dark, full-bodied and age-worthy wines.
Expect rich, brooding flavours of blackberry, black plums and blackcurrant, with spicy, coffee, leathery and liquorice notes in hotter regions and gamey, truffle notes developing with a bit of age.

The Country
Italian wine, with its rich diversity and quality, is a reflection of the country’s deep-rooted wine culture and the varied terroirs that span from the Alpine slopes in the north to the sun-drenched islands in the south. Italy is renowned for being the world’s largest wine producer, offering an array of wines that are as diverse as its cuisine. From the robust and age-worthy Barolo and Barbaresco wines of Piedmont to the light and zesty Pinot Grigio of the Veneto region, Italian wines are made to complement a wide range of foods and occasions. The country’s winemaking history dates back thousands of years, influenced by ancient civilizations such as the Etruscans and Romans, and continues to evolve today. Each region boasts its own indigenous grape varieties, with over 350 officially recognized by the Italian government, contributing to the unique character and flavor profiles of Italian wines. Whether it’s a Chianti Classico enjoyed with pasta in a Tuscan villa or a crisp Prosecco toasting a special moment, Italian wines encapsulate the essence of la dolce vita—the sweet life
The Region
