Creu Celta
Creu Celta, a distinguished wine producer, was established by the McAlindon family in 2003 in the picturesque region of Priorat, Catalonia, Spain. The vineyard is located in Salanques, known for its cool climate and unique slate-based soil called Llicorella, which contributes to the exceptional quality of the wines. The name “Creu Celta,” meaning “Celtic Cross” in Catalan, reflects the family’s Irish heritage, inspired by the 15th-century High Cross on Devenish Island in Northern Ireland.
The vineyard combines very old vines, aged between 60 to 80 years, with newer plantings from nearly 20 years ago. The primary grape varieties grown include Garnatxa (Grenache), Samsó (Carignan), and Syrah, each contributing to the complexity and richness of the wines
