Connie Glaze is the dedicated vodka brand from Southwestern Distillery, the independent, family-run powerhouse in North Cornwall that also produces Tarquin’s Gin and Twin Fin Rum. Launched in late 2023, the brand represents founder Tarquin Leadbetter’s vision of a premium “sipping vodka” that reflects the wild beauty of the Cornish coast.
While many vodkas are marketed on their purity or neutrality, Connie Glaze is built on character and texture. It was created to challenge the perception of vodka as a harsh, tasteless spirit, instead offering a liquid that is exceptionally smooth, creamy, and distinct enough to be drunk neat or over ice.
Connie”: An affectionate local nickname for Constantine Bay, a stunning golden-sand beach located just a few miles from the distillery near Padstow.
“Glaze”: This has a double meaning. In the Cornish language, glaz means “blue,” referring to the colour of the Atlantic ocean. It also nods to the “glazing” or polishing effect of the filtration process, which gives the spirit its glassy smoothness.
