Every drop of Bombay Sapphire gin contains 10 hand-selected botanicals from exotic locations around the world, gently vapour infused to capture their bright, vibrant flavours.
Origins and Inspiration: Originally inspired by a recipe from 1761, Bombay Sapphire was officially launched in 1987. Its name pays homage to the famous “Star of Bombay,” a 182-carat sapphire considered one of the finest ever found.
Botanical Blend: This gin boasts ten exotic botanicals sourced from around the world. These include juniper, citrus, coriander, peppers, and various spices. The distillery uses a unique vapor infusion extraction method to infuse these flavours.
Laverstoke Mill Distillery: The distillery where Bombay Sapphire is produced is located in the historic Laverstoke Mill building, which dates back to at least 1086. It has a royal past, with visits from King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth.
London Dry Style: Bombay Sapphire is classified as a London Dry gin, but this designation isn’t tied to a specific location (unlike Bordeaux or Scotch whisky). Instead, it refers to a dry style of gin made without artificial ingredients.
Tasting Notes: When you sip Bombay Sapphire, expect fresh citrus notes, lively juniper, and an elegant, light spiciness. It’s a versatile gin that mixes well in classic cocktails.
