Colline Pescaresi
Nestled within the picturesque province of Pescara, the Colline Pescaresi IGP (Indicazione Geografica Protetta) spans a diverse landscape that ranges from the Adriatic coast to the foothills of the Apennine mountains. This varied topography, along with a climate that transitions from Mediterranean to continental subtropical, creates an exceptional environment for viticulture.
The appellation is known for its flexibility and diversity, producing everything from sparkling whites to fruity rosés and sweet reds. However, the majority of wines are dry table wines crafted from a handful of classic grape varieties that have long been established in the region. Among these, Chardonnay, Trebbiano, and Pecorino are the stars for white wines, while Montepulciano and Bordeaux varieties such as Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon dominate the reds.
The Colline Pescaresi IGP encourages the production of single-variety wines from a wide range of grapes, reflecting the ethos of freedom and experimentation
