Trousseau grape

Trousseau

The Trousseau grape, also known as Trousseau Noir, Bastardo, and Merenzao, is an old variety of red wine grape with its origins in the Jura region of eastern France.

Trousseau is a grape with a noble lineage, believed to be a descendant of Savagnin and related to Chenin blanc and Sauvignon blanc

In France, Trousseau covers only 5% of the Jura vineyards as it requires more sun than other Jura varieties to ripen

Trousseau wines are characterized by their deep cherry red color, high alcohol content, and sour candy-like acidity

  • The Arbois Trousseau Les Corvees Touraize 2015 is crafted with meticulous attention to detail, reflecting the dedication of Domaine de la Touraize to producing exceptional wines.
