Tuscany

Tuscany, a region synonymous with rolling hills, artistic heritage, and viticultural prowess, is home to some of Italy’s most prestigious wine appellations. The Tuscan wine landscape is dotted with vineyards that produce an array of distinguished wines, each with a unique character shaped by the region’s diverse terroir.

At the heart of Tuscany’s wine fame are the Chianti and Chianti Classico appellations, where the Sangiovese grape reigns supreme. Chianti wines, known for their versatility and food-friendly nature, must contain a minimum of 70% Sangiovese grapes. Chianti Classico, the historical heartland, requires at least 80% Sangiovese and is celebrated for its red wines that exhibit aromas of red fruits and a touch of oak from aging.

The Brunello di Montalcino appellation, another jewel in Tuscany’s crown, produces some of Italy’s most robust and long-lived red wines. Made exclusively from Sangiovese, these wines are lauded for their depth, complexity, and aging potential
