Aloxe-Corton

Aloxe-Corton is a wine appellation in the northern side of Côte de Beaune, a subregion of Burgundy, France. The vineyards cover 118 hectares and include the communes of Aloxe-Corton and Ladoix-Serrigny.

Within this appellation, there are 14 climates classified as Premier Cru and 3 Grand Crus. The wines produced here are primarily red, made predominantly from the Pinot Noir grape. The Aloxe-Corton vineyards were classified in 1982, with over one-third of them granted the status of Aloxe-Corton Premier Cru. While both red and white wines are allowed, in reality, only a tiny percentage is white, with Chardonnay accounting for just under two hectares out of 127 in total.

These red wines are associated with the famous Corton Grand Cru and often command higher prices than those from nearby communes

complex bouquet of dark cherries, plums, wet forest floor and a tiny bit of wood. Balanced palate with well resolved tannins and fruits. It ends with a rather long and aromatic finish (raspberries)
