Nobile di Montepulciano

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is a distinguished red wine that hails from the heart of Tuscany, around the historic town of Montepulciano, Italy. This noble wine, which translates to “Noble Wine of Montepulciano,” is primarily made from the Sangiovese grape, locally known as Prugnolo Gentile, and must comprise at least 70% of the blend.

The appellation gained the esteemed DOCG status in 1980, signifying its high quality and adherence to strict production standards. The wine is celebrated for its robust structure and complex flavors, featuring dark cherry and rich plum aromas, ripe strawberry and cherry fruit flavors, and a gently tannic “tea-leaf” finish that evolves over time.

Aged for a minimum of two years, with at least one year in oak barrels, Vino Nobile di Montepulciano develops a maroon-red color that takes on a subtle brick-orange tint as it matures. The Riserva designation requires an additional year of aging, further enhancing the wine’s depth and character
