Barbera d’Asti

Barbera d’Asti is a renowned red wine produced in the Piedmont region of north-western Italy.

It became a DOC (Denominazione di Origine Controllata) in 1970 and was later upgraded to DOCG (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita) status in 2008.

Barbera d’Asti wines typically exhibit flavors of red fruits, leaning toward the darker end of the spectrum.

Over time (around 5-8 years), the fruit character becomes more savoury and slightly feral, with hints of forest floor.
