Each sip transports you to the cobblestone streets of Prague, where the art of brewing has been perfected over centuries. Whether enjoyed in the company of friends or as a moment of personal indulgence, Staropramen lager delivers a taste experience that is both timeless and delightfully satisfying.
The production of Staropramen lager is a meticulous process that begins with selecting high-quality ingredients, including malted barley, hops, water, and yeast. The malted barley is crushed and mixed with hot water to create a mash, which is then boiled to extract sugars and flavor compounds. Hops are added during the boiling process to provide bitterness and aroma to the beer.
Once the wort is cooled, yeast is added to ferment the sugars into alcohol and carbon dioxide. This fermentation process takes about a week in special steel tanks. After fermentation, the beer is referred to as “green beer” and undergoes a process called cold aging or cold maturation. This aging process takes a couple of weeks and occurs in rooms with very low and stable temperatures, in isolated tanks.
During cold aging, the beer matures and develops its flavors, resulting in a smooth and well-balanced lager. After aging, the beer is filtered to remove any remaining yeast cells, ensuring a clear and transparent final product. The beer is then packaged in bottles or kegs and stored under controlled conditions until it is ready for distribution.
Staropramen production process combines traditional brewing techniques with modern technology to create a lager that is both rich in flavor and refreshing to drink. The careful attention to detail and quality control at every stage of production ensures that each batch of Staropramen lager meets the high standards that beer enthusiasts have come to expect from this iconic Czech brand
